For the past four years, the ESC of I has had a statewide bus bid with eight different bids completed and now working in the ninth which started October 1, 2011. During this period of time, 214 different districts have purchased 1,584 buses for a total investment of $137,607,903.00. The process is very simple. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and follow the process. Basic buses are listed with all of the options that are available. Each district builds its own bus and the program calculates the final total from three different vendors. An instant bid is provided from three different sources that qualify under the bid laws. There are no advertising costs and districts can still trade in their old buses with this process.
