In 2010-11, Region 8 ESC joined a partnership with One Indiana and CIESC giving member schools the purchasing advantage on statewide-negotiated contracts, organized into convenient online catalogs, all on one easy-to-use website. Approximately $7,729,751.00 was expended by Region 8 ESC members through the program during 2010-11.
One Indiana, or K12 Indiana, provides browsing, pricing comparison, purchase order execution, demand aggregation and reporting with customization available based on the needs of each school, i.e. approval workflow down to the building or grade level teacher.
The system is approved by the Indiana State Board of Accounts according to its rules and guidelines. The system is also integrated with several of the most commonly used accounting programs in the state: Komputrol, RDS, and Skyward.
There are more than 30 catalogs representing 14 different commodity and service categories in the system. New vendors are added to the list regularly. Current categories include AV supplies and equipment, classroom supplies, computers, information technology hardware and software, janitorial products, maintenance, repair and operations, copy paper, office and school furniture, office equipment, and copy paper.
